Our Team

Kirk joined Bright Plastics in 2001 and became a full partner in 2002. Kirk has more than 30 years experience in marketing products for the industrial marketplace. He spent nine years in management with General Electric working in several U.S. locations, as well as countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Kirk has helped manage three businesses through turnaround situations. He is a graduate of North Carolina State with degrees in Business and Economics.

Joe has been at Bright since 1998. He came to us from TYCO where he was Plant Manager for their A&E Products operation in Forest City, NC. Joe has excellent leadership and management skills, having served in the Army as an artillery officer. A graduate of West Point in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Joe’s leadership, innovation and technical skills are valuable assets at Bright Plastics.

Todd Poteat joined Bright Plastics in February 2012. Todd has been involved in the plastics industry for more than 29 years. Prior to joining Bright Plastics, he was Site Leader of an injection molding facility for a large consumer product manufacturer. Todd has proven management and technical expertise focused on continuous improvement and problem solving. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State and an MBA from Western Carolina University.

Michelle came to Bright Plastics in 2015. Her engineering background includes experience with manufacturers in diverse industries including Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Dresden Nuclear Plant and RF Micro Devices (Qorvo). As Quality Manager at Bright Plastics, Michelle provides leadership and direction to the quality team which focuses on manufacturing performance and improvement, as well as enforcing the company’s compliance with ISO regulations. Michelle has both a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University.

Mackenzie joined the leadership team at Bright Plastics in the fall of 2021. Mackenzie has many years of experience providing financial leadership in the areas of cash management, financial reporting and analysis, accounting, audit, and insurance. Her in-depth experience in corporate finance is an asset that will enhance cash flow management and profitability at Bright Plastics. As Financial Controller at Bright Plastics, Mackenzie brings excellent analytical and implementation skills resulting in enhanced processes that provide accurate financial and performance data. Mackenzie earned her bachelor’s degree of Science, Business and Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
