EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Process Technician:  GED or High School Diploma required.

College or special technical training may be considered for this requirement.             

Preferred 3 years of experience in injection molding processing. 

TECHNICAL SKILLS required for job


Must be familiar with commodity and engineering plastics and demonstrate knowledge of   varying processing characteristics including processing temperatures, melt flow, shrinkage,   drying times, etc.
Must be able to understand and utilize statistical process control methods.
Must be able to correctly set molds, start processing and shut down injection molding machines.
Must be able to identify process related causes for defects and make corrections.
Must be able to identify mold and equipment related causes for defects (electrical, pneumatic,   hydraulic, PLC's, hot runners, etc.) and initiate appropriate repairs and modifications.
Must be willing to work overtime or on alternate shifts as needed to meet production   requirements.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must posses the ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, manuals, etc.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. Ability to effectively present information to others, such as management and staff, and communicate effectively in a team atmosphere.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

 

 

REASONING ABILITY
