Quality Assurance in Plastic Injection Molding
The ISO 9001:2008 certified Quality Management System at Bright Plastics is an integral part of our commitment to customer service. Our strict adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in our comprehensive Quality Manual as well as our company-wide focus on continuous improvement in all areas of our business ensures the manufacture and shipment of only first quality goods to our clients, meeting their specifications with on-time delivery.
Our ISO 13485:2003 certification for the design and manufacture of medical devices assures our clients that our manufacturing processes for medical devices meet the highest standards and that we have the ability to continuously maintain that quality through our quality management procedures.
We validate our capabilities through installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), and process qualification (PQ) tests and reports.
We perform First Article inspections (FAI), Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP), and statistical analyses.
We are focused on building quality into the product rather than just detecting product quality. To that end, we follow the AIAG guidelines for Advanced Product Quality Planning to ensure that product specification and process requirements are identified, controlled and approved before production is launched. This enables us to eliminate or reduce mistakes that could otherwise hinder our ability to meet customers’ expectations.
Our services support all phases of our operations and each project is assigned a Project Manager who oversees all aspects of the job from design and development through production and shipping.
Some of the equipment used in our inspections procedures includes:
- 6' Faro arm CMM - enables us to measure small and large parts
- Optical comparators with magnification from 20x to 100x that allow for high precision non-contact dimensional inspection
- Spectrophotometer - to verify the color of parts against customer standards
- Moisture analyzer to verify the moisture content of raw material
- Linear load test device up to 500 lbs. used for push or pull tests of joint components
- Digital lab scales used to measure parts and samples from .01g to 3000g in increments of .005 or .1g
- Microscope with variable magnification up to 160x
- Various fixed and portable magnifying lenses up to 20x
- Digital calipers, digital micrometers, height indicators, and other digital gages
- Various gage block and gage pin sets, general and part-specific attribute gages
- Miscellaneous gages and inspection devices
