Automated Systems in Plastic Injection Molding

Bright Plastics has invested heavily in automated systems which involve the utilization of robotics in the plastic injection-molding process. There are several aspects of the business which involve automation; primarily automation is used in the provision of our decorating and assembly services. In addition, Bright Plastics utilizes an ERP system specifically developed for the plastics industry. This system incorporates barcode throughout the production process, and enables push/pull signaling, lot traceability, perpetual records, and instant visibility to manufacturing status.

If you visit Bright Plastics and tour our facilities, you'll likely see robotics being used in the following ways:

  • Automation of plastic parts decoration (hot stamping), and decoration as parts are being molded through the use of in-mold labeling
  • Assembly of medical devices
  • Extraction of parts from the molding machines
  • Inspection of parts while in the mold
  • Assembly of parts for sonic welding, printing, and label transfer

Some of the benefits Bright Plastics' clients receive as a result of our Automated Systems are:

  • Greatly streamlined process/operational performance
  • Bar code transaction recording
  • Clear visibility to manufacturing status
  • Detailed record history
  • High security for data backup and restoration
  • Customer feedback loop via reporting
  • Identification and capture of each carton/pallet throughout the manufacturing process
  • Data redundancy (a critical factor for disaster recovery)
